Reflection of Day 3
Questions for Day 3
- What did you choose as the gift for your spouse?
- What happened when you gave it to them ?
- What was their response?
Yesterday's Dare (07/01/20), being on this journey so far has been an eye opener. I learned that I can be a selfish person. A quote from yesterday is still lingering in my soul, "When we choose self-centeredness we become higher maintenance, more needy, overly sensitive, demanding and then when we don't get our way, we judge others harshly while being blind to our wrong faults." I do feel that I have chosen 'self-centeredness' in more times than I want to admit.
Yesterday was overall a good day. I continued on keeping the house in good spirits. I continued to show love and kindness. My dare was to buy something for my spouse that shows I was thinking about him. At first, it was difficult to figure out what I wanted to buy him because I am always buying him stuff. Extravagant stuff to show that I care.. But after I stepped away and stopped over thinking the Dare, my daughter and I went to the convenience store because she wanted to get some snacks. Well at the check out line I decided to buy my spouse his Swisher Sweets. He started to smoke these instead of cigarettes (smells better too.. LOL). I bought him two little packs and put them on the coffee table in front of where he sits on the couch. When he came home he was like "oh sweet ! You bought me some more swishers".. I was like "yeah, I wasn't sure what kind you liked so Tommy (store owner) said that you smoked these ones, so I got you two".
He seemed very happy. The rest of the evening went great! My oldest daughter made us dinner and it was amazing. I continued to give God thanks and praises!!! I do have to shout this out though... He said "I LOVE YOU" when he left to run an errand last night.. I jumped for joy and screamed with excitement! I haven't heard those three words in a while now and it felt so good !!!!

Day 4: Love is Thoughtful |
Today's Goal
Today (07/02/2020), I am going to continue on with showing love and kindness. Sometime today, I will reach out to see how Lorenzo is doing and to see if he needs anything. I will ensure that I have no agenda, just showing kindness.
